So you kinda need to read these paras and imagine them happening simultaneously over about 20 seconds and see the comedy ;)

So in big Borther, Tania gets voted out, now I personally do not really find her attractive, she's pretty I guess and nice enough but she just doesn't rock my boat....so when she's being interviewed and it comes to a video montage of the 'best bits' I am sat there saying to D. " nah she's ok but I don't think she's all that, pretty bt I just don't find her atytractive....etc etc....all of which I mean, then in mid flow......

....'cut to video' of Tania deepthroating a beer bottle and me stopping mid denial and exclaiming 'fucking hell look at that'......

....ROFL.....sorry I could try and explain this.....it doesn't change what I was saying etc etc it doens't - it was just feckin' perfect timing and pretty funny!!!!!

Hmmmm interesting....thanks Lorien

And then she played Innocent Man by Billy Joel one of my all time favourite songs.....love these words......

Some people stay far away from the door
If there's a chance of it opening up
They hear a voice in the hall outside
And hope that it just passes by
Some people live with the fear of a touch
And the anger of having been a fool
They will not listen to anyone
So nobody tells them a lie
I know you're only protecting yourself
I know you're thinking of somebody else
Someone who hurt you
But I'm not above
Making up for the love
You've been denying you could ever feel
I'm not above doing anything
To restore your faith if I can
Some people see through the eyes of the old
Before they ever get a look at the young
I'm only willing to hear you cry
Because I am an innocent man
I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am
Some people say they will never believe
Another promise they hear in the dark
Because they only remember too well
They heard somebody tell them before
Some people sleep all alone every night
Instead of taking a lover to bed
Some people find that it's easier to hate
Than to wait anymore
I know you don't want to hear what I say
I know you're gonna keep turning away
But I've been there and if I can survive
I can keep you alive
I'm not above going through it again
I've not above being cool for a while
If you're cruel to me I'll understand
Some people run from a possible fight
Some people figure they can never win
And although this is a fight I can lose
The accused is an innocent man
I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am
An innocent man
You know you only hurt yourself out of spite
I guess you'd rather be a martyr tonight
That's your decision
But I'm not below
Anybody I know
If there's a chance of resurrecting a love
I'm not above going back to the start
To find out where the heartache began
Some people hope for a miracle cure
Some people just accept the world as it is
But I'm not willing to lay down and die
Because I am an innocent man
I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am
An innocent man

The Girl In A Swing is my favourite book ever - I can pick it up and open it anywhere and start reading, I knwo exactly what just happened and what will happen - it captivates me - its a love storey first and foremost, its also tragic and haunting and chilling.....I find the storey so inredibly well woven, every word, every description, every small happening ties in and adds to the whole thing.

it start something like "The wind has been far out on the downs tonight"....then goes on to mention the heavy summer evenings full of possible stornm and how Karin loves to sit at the window and play the piano......

.....tonight its summery but the air is slightly heavy, D. is sat at the window playing her piano......

....I am reminded how much I love her and of my favourite book.....I gave my copy (happily) away and its now out of print (why??!!??) I must get me a copy of that book again :)

Why would someone sign my personal guestbook offering penis enlargments, and why sign it 3 times!!!!? Don't people have any respect for other's sites?

I deleted them!!!

There's a few other 'professional site' signings in there already who have cleverly left a message which sounds like they might have read my site and actually liked it.....they can stay.....for now!!!!

Things have been good but busy.....trying to finish off work things before I go on holiday - and then planning holiday things too.....am really really looking forward to it, especially, of course, getting some quality time with my girls :)) xxx

I've been feeling a little itch to get back in front of my site, and my peotry, and VoicesNet of late so maybe a two week lay off whilst I'm on hols will be just the ticket to make the itch something I whole-heartedly scratch again :)

Oh and this new blogger thing is quite cool - even if it did confuse me over the weekend!!!!

So where was I?

Oh yeah Ladies Day at Ascot was totally ace - D. looked beautiful, the weather was dry but alas not so sunny - we won on a couple of races but didn't bet big - we drunk loads and finished off the day with a meal with a friend from work and his wife :)

We stayed in Slough and I had to go to work the next day feeling slightly jaded lol ;o)

The weekend was fun and chilled - D. met my parents for the first time and we had a chilled afternoon chatting in the garden after lunch - at least I hope D. found it chilled :)

When we got home I went for a bike ride and fund a good new route for us to try - am really getting back into biking and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it :)

Spent some of Sunday making so webpages for VoicesNet which I'll explain more of later :)

Haven't really mentioned the girls much of late - they're fine just a long way away - I forget if I miss a few days callingthem that I won't be seeing them the following weekend - we speak once a week or so - the best bit is they will be here on Saturday and I am off on summer hols for two weeks YAY :)

We are going to Centerparcs for a week which will be very chilled - its a big sports and outdoor activity focused 'village' with no cars (you bike everywhere) and very family oriented - really looking forward to it - D. helped me plan out a schedule of events - I think I have something planned most days with lots of swimming and stuff in between :)

And then the week after we are going to the Isle of Man - double YAY - Ariel hasn't seen the girls for ages so that in itself will be ace - butwe'll hopefully get a chance to see Ben and Ripsaw (and Jnr) and also (it just gets better) I will also get to meet the lovely Princess Roo who is Ariel's best mate who is a girl :oD

K right well think that'll do for now - nn y'all :)

Bah! culdn't post all weekend cause couldn't get into this part of blogger but now I've discovered.......me was using wrong pasword this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that said it was confusing because it said i was logged in as Listener, it kept sheeling me into the Blogger New page but I couldn't access my blog - its only just now I noticed a login=bad appear after the url - anyhow played with my 5 or 6 passwords I use for such things and found the one that worked - so expect a rather lengthy update tonight :)

Looks nice around here :)

We're going for a bike ride round here :)

I used to bike loads, off road stuff, every other weekend I didn't have the girls and evenings in the summer but haven't for ages....D.'s got her bike here now I've made picnic and so we're off - YAY :)

Moving stuff was ok....'cept we brought a wardrobe over and it wouldn't fit up the stairs - lol - looks like we're gonna have to save and visit Ikea :)

I hurt my back again - bah! - was going to go out tonight with work peeps in Ealing but didn't feel like it - D. did so am just off to pick her up - wonder if she's tipsey ;)

Sorry for lack of updates - weather is lovely and hot and just feel lethargic.......

This writing lark isn't that easy....lol....just tried to write ana rticle on blogging for the voicesNet newsletter.......hmmmmm

A Blog's Life

I Want This Feeling
Of Connectivity
To stay with me
Eternally

The 'net isn't called the 'net because of the holes but the bits of string that ties them together!

Humans need an ability to connect, to share, to express themselves........to partake in one of the fundamental aspects of everyday life.....communication. They don't need it like food or water....its far more important than that, it nourishes the soul.

It stands to reason that when something like the internet comes along we grasp it like we did the postal service and telephony before it.

It also stand to reason that all those everyday folk would turn from reading the 'net to contributing to it.......not as a business, or a charity, or for informational services maybe, but just for fun..........but if you had a webpage what would you do with it....for fun? Chances are you would gravitate to expressing your interests? Or describing your life maybe? Even airing your opinions?

Its not hard to see why the phenomenom of blogging has become one of the largest recreational uses of the 'net. We live in towns and cities....mankind forms communities.....and on the 'net the blogging world has done exactly the same....in a virtual way and with all the quirkiness and idiosyncracies that humans and the 'net can muster.

Blog is short for weblog or online diary or journal....typically powered by diary-style webhosting companies such as Blogger (who offer a free starter service or the ability to migrate to 'your own website) or web based personal publishing software such as Moveable Type (that you install on your PC and build from scratch just how you like) there are hundreds of thousands, if not miliions of such sites with all manner of styles and formats and content.

And its so simple; You get yourself some webspace and tell your storey - in any way, size or shape you want to.....then add some of the more fashionable blog add-ons like commenting (allowing people to say what they think about what you have to say), blog-rolling (so you can list up other sites you just love to read), cliques (sits dedicated to listing blogs) plus all manner of quizzes, polls, graphics and stuff to brighten the site.....and finally get out there and meet your neighbours, form friendships and share.

Ultimately, whatever the add-ons and visual self expression its the content that provides the pull....its the voyeur in us that wants to read about other peoples' lives....its the exhibitionist that wants to tell it.....or maybe its the parent, the child, the politician, the survivor, the photographer......or the poet......because whatever the commonality of the cause, the way its expressed is as diverse and varied as.......well why not just take a look down your street, in your town, in your country and you'll get the idea!

Does anyone know how you 'edit' mp3 files - I mean can you 'record' snippets of your mp3 files? or maybe merge several songs into one mp3? Basically I want a 'tape recorder' for mp3s....if that makes sense...on the principal that if you think of it its prolly already been done there must be some software somewhere?

Cheers Su(zi)e

Fun and spunky, you link, there for you are! This
is all fun and games, and you do what you
damned well please!

What kind of blogger am I?
brought to you by Quizilla

Slightly odd night out with my mate Ian - we went to London for a few beers and started with a quick pint at a pub near the trainstation but there was a 'do' there prolly a christening we guessed - we had to drink upstairs which was the pool room and there were no tables and loads of kids running around, not hugely odd only in that it was the weirdest place to have a 'do' in on the main road next to the station in an 'ok' pub.....then we got the train to town and had a quick lager in Waterloo Station as we were 'thirsty' after the train journey, the we walked up to Covent Garden taking in a few beers along the way....at one pub the couple next to us gave us an invite to an 'emerging artists' exhibition and proceeded to give us the 'sell' lol.

We eventually got the train 'home' after a cuzza (actually it was nowhere near because we missed the 'last train home' and had take a different one as close as we could get to - a slight comedy moment on the train when Ian mentioned something of a 'sexual nature' slightly louder than he meant to and it ended up creating a debate between some other people in the train, including one couple the male half of which claimed he'd be in so much trouble when he got home' - tho we thought she'd been quite happy to join in!!!!

Eventually decided to go to a party that some of Ian's friends had gone too which was nearer the train station we ended up in than 'home' but it wasn't very good so we let.

Actually nothing too odd really just all slightly unusual - lol :)

I chose three poems for VoicesNet 'Poet In Residence'.........Didn't We, I Cast Stones and A Walk At Night - which I have put up on the left for a while :)

Radiohead on Later with Jools Holland and )bizzarely) later on BBC4.....one of D.'s fave bands so am staying up to video....she fell asleep earlier......hmmmm.....Radiohead....am getting to love them, getting to get it....D. is good at getting people to 'get' music as she's knowledgeable and impartial....she'd make an ace music journo....not your pretentious type just your suitably acerbic yet unprejudiced type....I love this about her ....I think she knows more about music than anyone I have ever met.......hoiw could she not be my soulmate....she drags me way out further than I have ever been :)

We play a game D. and I, I pretend to be really knowledgeable about something and she pretends she didn't already know it.....and then tells me loads more about it I didn't know - lol......my only solace is when we get onto Darius, S Club and Avril Levigne - I wipe the floor with her.....rofl ;)

hmmmm.....sorry y'all that was meant to be about Radiohead - lol :)

Spoke with girls tonight which was ace - they're well and really chatty and excited about coming here for two weeks at end of this month - I know its silly but this makes me irrationally relieved :)

I made a fisherman's pie for d. tonight who said it was lovely tho I was a tad disappointed with how it turned out :/

Kinda wathing Big Brother but it never catches my interest until later on really - sode's we have twoi people at work who are avid watchers and update me every day :)

Bit of disappointing news about work - basically a crap pay rise this year - but not just because 'times a hard', more a fall out from the crap of earlier this year - am a bit pissed off especially as my old boss didn't have the balls to tell me and left it to my new one (who as he's only been my boss for two weeks can't do much really!!!!) - I have a lot of time for my new boss who I think has the personal side down pretty good - I need to just think this weekend....most of me wants to say OK its cool, that was last year and this is a new year with a new role and a new boss and a new chance......half of me thinks fuck you no-one treats me like that I am better than this job (h and I don't men resign on principal just look around)........I think me needs to think :/

Thursday, June 05, 2003

Michelle left a nice comment in my guestbook and so I popped to her site across which was fun :)

Quick catch up - work and new job is ace, feel really good about having a good position with lots of challenegs, me and D. are darned fine, move almost complete and now are planning Ikea trips for wardrobes and bookshelves to fit her in properly (well not her as such but you know what I mean)....girls are fine too :) xxx

click to record
K so do you ever walk or drive or travel generally along and look in the sky and think wow this is good, this is great.....I do, generally I mean not just now, especially if feeling a little down I do try to make myself happy by thinking happy and putting any bad stuff to one side......of course there's not to much of that now so I also try to 'bank' days like these....or at least the memory of them, burn them into my mind to recall them later in less light moods....I drove to the quiz the other day and there's a stretch of road slightly downhill where the fields and tres stretch out wide either side and the sky is big.....it was not quite dusk and the evening light seemed to hang heavy in the air foreshortening one's depth perception......I felt really really good :D

record end, save under 'for a rainy day' ;o)

We won the quiz, we're on a hat-trick next week :)
