The Kings Of Leon ROCK - the gig last wekend was totally ace - the mosh pit was pretty frantic but a larf.....tho me did tend to worry about D. being crushed once or twice................so hugely hugely enjoyed it and what an ace Birthday pressie.

A funny thing happened on the way to the gig.....well it wasn't funny at the time actually......The Brixton Acadamy website declared parking was very restrivcted aorund the venue and so I checked out the local carpark on mutlimap.....we then drove up following the directions but the traffic was quite slow and so I was a little stressed even tho we had plenty of time.....nearly there I got a bit confused about directions and followed a sign to a car park which was clsoed, D. then suggested we go back and pick up the directions which we did, took a right turn and D. happily announced there it is....except it was the venue not the car aprk.....I was thinking we were following my direcitons to the car park but I hd entered the post code of the venue. At this point I somewhat panicked - I seem to remeber the phrase 'well that's fucking blown it I have no idea where to fucking park now and we're going to miss the fucking gig' passing my lips in rather a loud fashion.

Calming slightly (well not very) I asked D. what we thought we should do (she was keeping quiet due to my aforementioned outburst!) and she said well let's go down that side street and se if we can aprk. Muttering soemthing about it not being likely as aprking was restricted we turned left and....

....discovered a car just leaving a space under a sign saying parking restricitons stopped at 6pm .....so we, er, parked....about 500 yards from the venue"! Oh dear!

Moral of this storey....don't let me plan the route......and remember that when all around are loosing thier heads......D. stays pretty calm!!

Also equally ace is the new the new album form U2 - its a superb blend of the past 25 years of awesome music making....am gonna get me some tickets to their gig's next year for deffo. As ever Bono's lyrics always manage to strike a chord in me about soemthing I have exeperienced....I wish I could be as eloquent......of aprticular note is Miracle Drug which kinda reminds me of my mum...........

Christmas is of course a coming and I am rather excited about the pressies I have found for D.

Suppose I should update really.....when I got into this I didn't think I'd ever tire of it - its not that I have tired of it I just don't seem to spend time in front of the 'puter like I used to......I should make the effort....

Bah! Anyway things are ok, new job is fine, amd pretty settled into it now but its very challenging....but then that's what I wanted!

The girls are ok, still miss them, still don't see them enough - went up a few weekends ago just after Bryony's 13th birthday - 13! Where along the road of life did I manage to acquire a 13 year old daughter - I don't feel anywhere near grown up enough for that, but then maybe that's a good thing.

D.'s cool, she's got a interview in the New Year for one of the colleges running voice therpay courses which is excellent news and she's got a Xmas job in boots to tide over - and it means she can still do her volunteer work twice a week - tho she's doing lots of hours so we're not getting much time together at the mo :( but am trying to make the time we do have quality time :oD

We're going to see Kings of Leon in concert on Sunday - half of my birthday present and I can't wait its gonna ROCK!

Well that's about it as I'm tired! Anyone still reading this I hope you're well :o)
